Front half of an Ilex projection petzval I got from Mr. Galli himself (who says you need to use the whole lens). Thanks a million Jim - I've just started using this lens and I love the look of it.

Full lens is a 4.5". Front half give me about 8" at F4.5.

    8 x 10 Tmax 400 - Platinum/Palladium.

Holy S&^+ Dan that sure is a keeper of a lens. Love the whole image and the tone. The hair is astonishing! Great shot.

That's great, Jim. Just goes to show that you don't have to use these things just for the ridiculous aberrations

I also like BarryS's structure. Cool.

Nothing to do with this thread, but I have a neat 15 inch f6.7 Petzval to sell! 8X10 and very light.

I've posted these in other threads before, but here they are again, 145mm f2.0 projection lens that is some sort of petzval. All of these shot on a 4x5 speedgraphic, uncropped.
