please help me identify this light leak

    Hello everybody.

I've been using my toyo 45cf for many years without a problem. Brand new toyo holders too. This showed up on my last gig:

Did anybody ever cross paths with something like this?

Weird. Could it be a double exposure? The lines seem to be too crisp to be a light leak.

Also: the exposed film was stored in a three park empty film box, inside the little bag. I've never had problems doing this.....

No idea, but the 'twisted' black line that runs through the middle of both photos horizontally reminds me of a rubber band, if that triggers anything for you.

Looks like a nice spot to mix regardless.

This doesn't look like it happened in the camera. I would guess during storage or development. Did you send it out for development? Could be caused by a scanner of some kind during transit perhaps?
It does kind of look like a rubber band or ribbon, good catch.

Can It be the support or container or taco style arrangement of the developer hardware? Did you leave the safelight on and expose for red? like maybe on a JOBO reel

There is too much sharp definition for it to be a light leak, and does not resemble any type of processing error. Some form of multiple exposure.

    Thanks for your time guys!
Ok, first things first. There's no chance of a double exposure mistake. I wasn't shooting anything resembling that object and we only had one holder on set, since the 4x5 camera wasn't the main camera of the job, that was my Hasselblad 503. Anyway, it was all very metodic and procedural. Double exposure is out of the question, which puzzles me even more.

Furthering my investigation, that day I made six 4x5 pictures, all of which came out with problems. The pattern of 3 or 4 vertical red rectangles is almost identical in all of them but one:

The "rubber band" dark sharp horizontal shadow also seems to be in all of them but on this one above.

This is the last one I hadn't posted before, but almost identical to the photo on the first post:

Looking at this one now I think its the one with the roughest problem.

Two shots were also made outside, and here are my red vertical UFOs again on the right side of the picture (sorry can't post the whole shot on these):

    Here are my thoughts:
    CAN'T BE:
    1. Xray - brought to South America in xray bag, carry on.
    2. Changing bag - It would've shown itself before or after, and mine is solid.
    3. carrying box light leak - I've checked.
    4. Bellows light leak - just ran some detailed testing with a powerful 300w fresnel I have laying around. It's solid.

    COULD BE:
    1. holder
    2. transportation of exposed film in film box. It was never opened, since I sealed it with a piece of gaff tape. But something could have happened here.
    3. anything lab related - I'm not a fan of this one since the projected error on the 4x5 sheets is coherent and almost identical.

    Thanks so much again guys!

Any tests or suggestions are more than welcome! What would you do?

    I didn't process these myself so I can't tell.
