    65mm f6.8 Angulon lens - Assistance please

Hi - I have been given a 65mm f6.8 Angulon lens, serial no 10807xx. It came with on a MPP lens board with a hole of 25mm diameter that I assume is a 000 fitting. It is in a Synchro-Compur shutter (speeds 1sec to 1/500th sec). The shutter needs a good CLA as it only works correctly 1 in three times of using.

Before I get the shutter CLA'd I would like to know if the lens will cover 5x4, if not what will it cover and is it worth the cost of the CLA.

    Thanks in advance

According to Schneider, 109.6mm image circle. It will cover 6.5x9cm with almost no movements.

never used one myself but this guy seems to think it WILL cover 4x5...
about 1/2 way down the page:

I've heard that schneider quote an image circle for what they consider an area of sharp image but there is more image around that.... maybe you'll get coverage if you're prepared to stop down and accept soft corners?

I'd put the lens on a board and lock the shutter open to at least see what you get on the ground glass before you scrap it

Sevo is absolutely correct, it will only cover the 6X9 format with minimal movements. I have a 65mm 6.8 Angulon and a 6X9 camera and am familiar with its coverage. The 65mm Angulon on a 6X9 is akin to a 90mm Angulon on a 4X5, it covers, but minimum room to move.

    I hope this is helpful.

Using a 65mm Angulon on 4x5" is about like using a 90mm Angulon on 5x7": OK, if you accept soft dark corners. Useable if you don't have a Super Angulon with you.
