    From the Oklahoma Meetup

Here is a image thread for us

    Two 4x5's
Ilford HP5+ (thanks, Gem) in Pyrocat HD.

This one I cheated a bit with a Photoshop Silver Gelatin Action

The Creek, downstream of the falls. I decided to make about a 50% crop of the negative for this presentation. Yes, there are power wires there, dammit all.

Should have my Color negatives tommorow.

Nice! Got to love HP5+. I need some Pyrocat HD. How did you get that tone? V700 scanner, right?

The tone in the 1st picture is a Photoshop action, by Thomas Niemann.
I'll have to try a real print on some warmtone paper, maybe a van dyke also.
I kinda hate cheating too much, among the expereinced here !

Both are scanned on the V700.

Second one just has some small amount of curves applied.

Is it my new notebook computer or are these oversharpened?

maybe its how I resize them to jpegs ? - and maybe even how I use PS to go from the neg. size at 2400ppi to a 360ppi larger image ? The web pics I resize down from the resized-up .psd file I work the adjustments/make ink jet prints from.
Scanner unsharp is set to "low". In PS, the most i wll do on these is a basic unsharp mask at about 25 or 30%, .5 to .7 radius.

when I go from 2400 dpi neg scan (at 4x5) I simply type in "360" for ppi, then set either the H or W I want, then use resize sharper. Resample is checked ON.
I still wear my Photoshop Diapers

Thanks. I don't use sharpening at scanning time or JPEG creation. Maybe that's my problem-I'm not used to seeing sharp JPEGs.

Well, I think some research is due on my part, to find the best resizing methods. I'm just shooting from the hip so to speak.

It's my notebook computer making things look funky or my crap HP monitor at work making things look funky. Computers. Bah! Humbug! Go figure.

    Yes Sir.

I sure hope the others post something soon
They were shooting at an earlier time, and I have a feeling they will have some very interesting images, due to the light they had.
