Question on Linhof with wide angle lens

I tend to purchase a Phase One P25 digital back used with my Master Technika 2000.

My target is to use Schneider Super Angulon LX 38mm lens as the wide angle lens in this format. It is about 26mm lens or so equivalent in 135mm since the size of CCD of P25 is 36.7mm x 48.9mm which gives a diagonal of 61mm.

In order to mount Super Angulon LX 38mm to Technika 2000 for groundglass focus, do I need Linhof special Technika lensboard with helical foucsing mount? Or just a normal Technika lensboard?

Currently using Phase One H10 with Tehcnika 2000 and 90mm and 150 mm lenses, very satisfied with the picture quality. With the 60MB file, I can print to 20"x24" Endura paper by Lambda printer with very good result. It stimulates the desire to upgrade to P25.

A standard Linhof board for the 2000 as the extreme wide angle focusing mechanism is built into the 2000 and the 3000 cameras. However, the drop bed of the 2000 will not drop far enough down as it does with the 3000. Linhof can modify your 2000 so the bed will drop as far. Also Linhof now has a shift back for the 3000. The 2000 can also accept the shift back with a minor factory modification to the back of the 2000.
Be sure to check with your dealer for the proper lensboards for 28, 35, 38, 45, 47, 55, 58 and 65mm lenses on the 2000/3000.

As you can read here you will need a special recessed lensboard without helical mount, so the infinity stop works also for the 38mm lens.

    Thanks for the input.

    Bob,
In Master 2000 manual, it stayed that 2000 could deal with wide angle lens from 35mm onward with the built-in focusing track. You mentioned about 28mm. Can I put 28mm wide angle lens with normal lensboard in 2000 for infinity focus?

No, you would need to use a recessed board. As I am traveling this week I don't have the lens board list with me but will get back to you on Monday with the number for the proper boards for the 2000 and the lenses that your are interested in.
