Howdy from North Texas

Howdy everyone,

I was recently given a 4x5 OmegaView camera and a Pacemaker Speed Graphic camera. I plan on photographing transparency film, then scanning into the computer for enhancement and output.

My experience with large-format goes back many years when I built a Bender 4x5 kit, then bought a Calumet Field camera. I enjoyed photographing chromes and learning the camera movements. I made the mistake of selling both cameras to buy other equipment.

I look forward to using large-format equipment again. I feel like I will appreciate it more this time around.

I'm in Grand Prairie; part of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. I'd like to meet/talk to some others in LF in the area. I could use some tips.

More than willing to share our knowledge with other photogs.

I was trying to be modest. However, yes, closer to 200 photo years experience between us.

Still haven't heard from Larry.

Occasionally, a few of the Texas Church Group photogs join our Sat. outings.

Welcome. There are several active photo groups in DFW. The above group which I have yet to meet up with, but need to. Several other local clubs are also active.

My other photo group is Fort Worth Camera Club. 180+ members. Mostly digital but a handful still do LF. We do regular meeting, outings, competitions, etc. You might check us out. www.fortworthcameraclub.com
