    Newbie from San Diego CA

    Hi my name is Charles. I am 30 years old and have been a serious amature photographer for 10 years now. I started with BW film and did not make the move to digital untill about 4 years ago. I have been wanting to move all of my BW work back to film just because i love the way it looks. My curent digital system rivals 120/220 film cameras so I have recently purchased a cambo 4X5 mono rail system to get started with. And all i can say is WOW i love large format photography. Im hoping to learn from the experiences that the people on this fourm have.

    Welcome to LF Forum. You will find that there are a few people here who live in San Diego. I spend most of my year here, and live close to downtown. A while ago another thread discussed some of us trying to meet somewhere central, like Balboa Park. Perhaps that might happen sometime this year.

    Welcome to the forums. You'll find this is probably one of the best places for everything from advise to critique to general support.

    Where abouts in San Diego are you? I'm in Tierrasanta and can be seen roaming from OB to Palomar to In-Co-Pah with my LF cameras (mostly 4x5) There are several LF shooters from San Diego on the forums, top-notch photographers.

    There was talk a while back about getting together for a discussion session, but nothing yet. Pehaps I'll arrange for a Saturday morning get together some place like Kensington Coffee.

    Thanks for the welcome guys. I am in the down town area. I to am a roamer of this area but i prefer to go north on long weekends like around yosimite and bishop area.
