Thread: Levels

    Levels

I've been searching for a buble level of some sort to attach to my crown. I'm having a hard time of it though.
The closest thing I can find is a bullseye level that is about 1.5 inches in diameter. Problem is, that's sort of big and the level is perhaps a bit too sensitive.

Anyone have a good source for appropriate levels?

Rather than attach a level to my Korona, I purchased a keychain from the Toyota Dealership that has a bubble level as a dongle. That way I could carry it everywhere. Of course my wife saw it and now SHE has a bubble level that she can carry everywhere.

There are several makes of small, square, clear plastic two-way spirit levels that slide directly into the accessory shoe on a camera. Same as mounting a flash attachment. They also can be permanently cemented to the top of a LF camera.

Look on the B&H website, under "spirit levels" for examples.

Kaiser makes several types. They are available from your camera store. Try Arlington Camera in Arlington, Precision Camera in Austin, Houston Camera Exchange.

Handy-dandy little level on a lanyard from Lee Valley Tools. Hang it around your neck and it's always with you.

Call Calumet's parts department. They carry all kinds of spirit level replacement parts for various cameras. That's where I got the levels I'm using on my Toho.

    Lowe's. Red plastic. 2-way level. About 2" x 1 1/2". $2.00 or less. Bob's your Uncle!
