Can this E-6 transparency be recovered

I develop my E-6 in Jobo 3005 drum mostly without any problems. This time I must have had some moisture in one of the drums as the magenta film back layer has not washed off, see attachment.

In B&W this can be cured by placing the negative in the fixer again. How can you cure this E-6 transparency. I am using Tetenal 3-bath process chemicals.

I guess, scan and then fix in Photoshop at this point...

Soak it in a tray of water would be my guess. I prewash my E-6 prior to development (in Jobo drum) and the rinse water comes out pink/magenta, so I think this is a water soluable coating (for anti-halation purposes).

I immensed the film for 5 min in 38C warm water with NO EFFECT.
The anti-halation layer is now "fixed" and needs the right chemical treatment.
Thanks for any help?

Might want to ask this same question in the Color: Film, Paper, and Chemistry forum over at APUG. APUG has a couple of the retired Kodak engineers as members. Maybe one of them will have an answer for you.
