John Wayne's movie set in Texas

Very nice folks, very photographer friendly, they filmed The Alamo here about 40+ years ago and the set is still there albeit a bit weathered. They serve a good lunch at the Cantina, and are super nice people. About three hours west from San Antonio on Hwy 90 towards Del Rio. If you want old West photographs, this is the place to set up the view camera.

I sure wished that you had posted this last week, I just got back home from spending a couple of nights in San Antonio. I would have gone there for sure. Oh well, it's back to sooping the 5x7's of the mission churches.
