Thanks David. My original intent was to shoot the tree with a very shallow DOF, so the final result is still close to my original intent, with the exception of the tip. I think your serendipitous comment is accurate; I just printed out a 17x22 and having the center of the branch section of the tree in sharp focus gives the impression that it's reaching up out of the murky depths of some other world. Additionally, I'm damn lucky the accidental back movement didn't throw the most critical part of the image out of focus.

Nana, your images never cease to amaze me. 90% of my LF images are shot with 120mm on 4x5", so I would have seen completely different images at the scene. But yours are absolutely spectacular!
