John, this is an exceptional image. Naturally monochromatic, very well done!

Kirk, r, Roger, Harley, David - Thank you.

The image contains an accident - I was using a new to me camera that requires the back tilt knobs to be tighter then I'm used to, and when I inserted the holder the back tilted forward a bit. As a result the very top of the tree and the bottom half of the trunk are out of focus. Thankfully the final result looks intentional. Still, I wish I'd refocused and exposed another sheet to compare, but at the time I thought the back had moved while I was tearing down rather then setting up. It's driving me a little crazy knowing it wasn't what I intended, even if it does work.

Thought I had seen enough photos from this scenery, but obviously not. This is masterly done!

Don't let it bother you too much. I tend to think the atmosphere in this would hide any slight variations in focus.

    Don't beat yourself up, it's bad-ass!

Wasn't sure I could save this image or not, I missed the exposure. Although I was happy that I got anything.

I pulled off the road just as the sun was setting...

After setting up, I had to run back to the car for a wider lens,
Next, I forgot the film holder, again I run back to the car, wife is really puzzled why I was running back an forth to the car...
Great, after I was all set up... I caught my foot on the tripod and had to remove film holder to re-frame...

If by that you mean it's underexposed, I rather like it. Nice mood. I think you saved it.

And you're not the only one who has to keep running back to the car and whose wife looks at him quizzically. It seems the farther away I am from the car the more things I keep forgetting.

I would also agree, real fine mood and nice light. Well worth the running back and forth. Real nice image.

Doesn't it seem you only kick the tripod when time is of the essence?

Very rich, dramatic, and likeable! This is why we like film.
