    As everyone says, Holden, very nice image. I agree with Renato that the overexposure on the rock-tops are a pity . . . in the olden days, one solution would be to make a duplicate negative (for security, so as to leave the original negative untouched) and then "paint" a potassium permanganate type reducer onto the rocks. This reducer does add some graininess ... but in fact that would probably look pretty good on those rocks anyway.

    Congratulations on your image.
    When faced with the tonal problems of the rocks, I often throw water onto them if it is practical - or have someone else do it for me - prior to taking the image. It cuts down the higher tonal values on the rocks themselves and makes printing that much easier.

    Yes that would help.
    This is the thing, the rocks are covered with white powdery mud that has dried in the sun, so the exposure is fine, your water solution would work but it would be very easy to slightly burn them in with a mask.
