Its been a long time between photographing, having our first born can do that
After 18mths or so of no action, I finally had a chance to get back out there and take some shots.

It ended up being quite challenging, keeping my nerve as big waves cause sea spray to rise while balancing on a rock that didn't have more than a couple feet of space behind the tripod before the drop off. Add to that, the rising tide was threatening to close my path back up, so there was quite a bit on my mind!

Fortunately, I did successfully manage to get this shot - The Pinnacles | Phillip Island, AUS.

Boy was that stupid! I got home and started shopping for a field camera . Here's an image from up there.

Anyway, here's my favorite shot from my trip to Lula Lake Falls. This will definitely be printed nice and big I think. It might not be visible on screen at this resolution, but there are some wispy, low-level clouds above the falls that I'll try to burn in when I print it. A few minutes later the sun came out - but the lighting was harsh and I'm not sure if I could've gotten a good image (though a sunburst through the trees would be nice, maybe next time).

All four shots are inspiring on many levels and depressing at the same time, for those of us not so talented. Gotta include mdm's shot of lake Alabaster. What little I have use Fomapan this seems to be the perfect conditions for that film. Love the glass smooth lake and isolated stump. Sanoma is a grand place for such terrain and use. Vineyards are great subjects though this is unusual sans foliage. I commented on alen's shot of The Pinnacles, love the color and composition. Bryan, that shot would have made the hard work well worth the effort. Nice treatment of the water an DOF. Very nice texture on the rock. All four shots on this page are outstanding.
    Regards

    Marty

Thanks Marty. I hope you are doing well down in Albany. I have to burn a lot of film to get to the good shots . Gotta say, I have been missing south GA lately - early spring was always the nicest time temperature-wise.

If you believe you can, or you believe you can't... you're right.
