Just started thing about 4x5. I've been shooting 35, mainly RF, for years and have been bitten by the LF bug. I'll probably hang out a bit and gather what I can.

Welcome RussK! I hope this bug is one you get to love.

Russ, Welcome from a few miles East. Good to see another LF shooter.

Welcome.
There are lots of Oregonians that frequent the forum.
Welcome!
In addition to the Portland people that post here there's also a Portland photography group or club, not sure what exactly they call it, that I understand includes a lot of LF photographers. They meet monthly. Maybe someone who participates can tell you when and where.

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticize them you'll be
a mile away and you'll have their shoes.
This may be it.

Thanks all. I've already learned a lot just by snooping around on this site, much as I've done on RFF.
Drop Kirk Keyes an email, he's here on the forum. He can point you to when/where the local LF group meets on a monthly basis (different than the PPF) and can also get you added to our local email discussion mail server.
I haven't been to the meeting in a while, but they are a great group of guys.
PPF meets every third Wednesday of the month at Wilson High School. I've belonged to this group for many years. While there are some professionals, it's membership consists primarily of amateurs who love photography. While it's been primarily a film photographer group, some members are expanding to digital and show digital work.
PPF does a lot. The monthly meetings have had some excellent presentations. There's also an opportunity for members to show their work at the monthly meetings. They sponsor very reasonably priced workshops that have featured some excellent people. They have an ongoing program to give 35mm equipment to high school students, who otherwise might not be able to afford a camera.
A friendly and encouraging group of enthusiasts.
