    Alan, the softar filter really brightens things up. curious to see what matched exposures would be. both are nice to me, curious to see where you end up.

    Yes, I took these some time apart as more things occurred to me so the clouds were thinner when I added the filter. Overall I was surprised the effect of the filter was so subtle. I've used it on the Sigma 30 1.4 and found it to be too much usually. Maybe sandwiching the filter between the lens proper and extender made a difference. The real test will be when I get a face to shoot and also when I shoot the rig on 35mm I think.
