Thread: safe haven for tiny formats

    Thanks, Peter & Leigh.

Leigh - it's the way the plaster has been applied that gives that particular texture. I think it photographs well, and would work well as a background in other kinds of photographs. I like it so much, that the walls of our apartment have been done in a similar way.

    Happy New Year,

    David

My mom feeding one of her baby parrots, only a few days old:

My uncle playing with one of the older birds:

My mom raised and hand-fed cockatiels when I was young, and later moved on to various parrots, such as caiques and green cheeks among other types that I can't remember. Since the young birds need feeding every hour or two, she had to bring them to our Christmas festivities in Mississippi. Both shot with my Nikon F3 and Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AIS, on Tri-X rated @800 dev'd in HC-110.

Interesting shot. I would have bumped the exposure maybe 2 stops to bring out detail of the roof and avoid that huge black hole.

That explains it - I have a book called "At Mono Lake," and one of the images in it is titled "Mono Basin Under Poconip Fog." I never knew what that meant. I see that the spelling in the book is incorrect, and your's is correct, Jim.

Leigh, thanks for the comment. Agree on the black hole.

My first shots from a bulk roll of Tech Pan (exp. 2002) that I recently acquired. Worked out pretty well using Photographer's Formulary TD-3 for 13 minutes. Taken using a Contax IIIa fitted with a Jupiter 8M.
