Thanks all, these are straight off the scanner so probably why they're a bit dark. I didn't want to do any processing in PS but maybe I should?

There are different thoughts being discussed but my belief is you should go ahead and process it to look like your pre-visualization that you would print for. There's nothing sacred about these images that we shouldn't show what our vision for the image is and was.

Soft focus lives in the highlights. That's why this is such a good choice. All the bright whites and accompanying halo's are what soft focus is about.

These are lovely Peter. Especially all the nice detail in the second one with the foreground rocks. I've done a few moving water in soft focus myself, but water on top of the ground is hard to find in Nevada :~'))

I just got a 30 cm Imagon myself the other day. Not much done with it yet, but here is one. This is the first Imagon I've used, in all these years of soft focus work.

You sure have a fine collection of automobiles around the place.

Did you use the 'strainers' or the iris on the shutter (if it has one) for that shot, and at what f-stop? I still get a tremendous amount of 'glow' around anything bright white but you've got it pretty well tamed. Subtle is far better I think.

Happily, this one isn't mine. My wife is a good sport, but there is a line in the sand somewhere.

I used the 5.8 - 7.7 strainer (the only one I have, WANTED: the others) at 5.8. At 7.7 the softness and glow are almost gone.
