    Some Kodak Readyloads to be discontinued

    Another blow from Kodak:

    The following films in readyloads will no longer be available:

    KODAK PROFESSIONAL T-MAX 100 Film
    KODAK PROFESSIONAL PORTRA 160VC Film
    KODAK PROFESSIONAL EKTACHROME Film E100G
    KODAK PROFESSIONAL EKTACHROME Film E100VS


    KODAK PROFESSIONAL READYLOAD Packet Film Holder

    As has been explained before several times, Kodak subcontracted its readyload production to Polaroid. Kodak supplied the film and Polaroid did all the rest..manufacture and assembly of the packet. Polaroid went out of the film business. They disposed of all their equipment. Kodak could not see investing the funds in acquiring the equipment to make the final product, due to limited returns. Thats just the way it is. These films you list are still current in sheet film sizes, you just have to load your holders. The discontinuance of readyloads is NOT Kodak's fault, rather Polaroids(Petters Group) decision to exit the film business. Ilford looked into acquiring the equipment and license to continue production of Polaroid instant b/w film materials, but declined, due to cost.

    I hope Fuji keeps making Acropan quick loads. They're very convenient and the results are just as good as Tri-X.
