Ilex 365mm for Shen Hao 5x7

    Hello,
there is an issue to place the Ilex no.5 375mm to ShenHao 5x7 lensboard. The size of the lens is to big for front standart. Any Idea how to fix it ? Has anyone solved such a problem ?
    Thank you for your opinion,
    Jiri

Even if fitted somehow will the Shen Hao have enough extension to be practical, and can the front standard take the weigh.

Ian, my brother-in-low uses such a lens with his Chamonix 5x7, but, it has much bigger lensboard. No problems with weight.

Your problem is that most US shutters like Ilex 3,4 & 5's are huge compared to Copal, Compur & Prontor's. You're going to need an engineer to fabricate an extension/adaptor board to fit the lens to the camera.

    Jiri,
It is possible, i will send you a photo of a lens board i made for a #5 Alphax when i get home from work. I use that lens/shutter on a 4x5 Shen Hao with not problems.

Which Shen? The older one takes a big 140x140mm board. Isn't that big enough? Take out the adapter. It certainly has plenty of extension for such a lens.

No, he has Technika lensboards (99x96mm if I'm correct). The problem for him is not the bellows extension, it's fitting the lens in there.

(bluenote is the brother-in-law of mine I've been referencing to several times already).

It's a very nice lens, if it won't fit then there would be no problem selling it on, and perhaps buying a Nikon f9 300mm or something similar. My Ilex Paragons & Acme 3 shutters fill a Wista/Tecknika board

to IanG: Selling the lens is the last step. I'll try to make a adapter-lensboard first.
Maybe contact with ShenHao would solve it. :-)
