    The only time stacking filters can get you into trouble is if light is able to leak from the side into a space between filters. You can get some really strange reflections that way like the lens imaging itself.

    That's not much of a concern with screw on filters though. I only know this because it occasionally creeps up on the movie cameras I use at work. It's an easy fix, in any case.

    If you do stack, you should try and be careful to flag the lens well. All of the extra surfaces will increase the likelihood and severity of flare.

    Shade the lens with a Flag (a black object like a card or metal frame with black cloth on it).

    BTW, you can use an auto steering wheel cover to wrap around filters, or other similar type of object.

    i am thinking of giving the b+w nd 6 stops a try.

    this filter has the reputation of having a slight warm cast... and i thought what the hell, seeing that i will get my trans scanned and lambda print later on, i can probably remove the cast using cs3.
