    Hi from sunny Walton-on-the-Naze UK

    Hi

I am just about to jump into LF photography selling all me 35mm and MF gear to fund the move.

My attempts in 35mm and MF

I hope to do better with LF with a view to selling as fine art prints

    Chris,
It's a long learning curve, but the results are really satisfying. You live in a nice area for photography.
    Best wishes,
    Pete.

    Chris,
Looking at the photos, you seem to be way ahead already. The technicalities of LF can be picked up in a couple of days from where you are. Start at the top with ten eight. Hope to see more stuff.

Ah, good to see so many people from the UK, although you could hardly describe it as sunny, certainly not sunny Hertfordshire at the moment anyway! I've just aquired a Sinar Norma which is my first ever go at large format. I've managed to develop one slightly streaky negative so far, so there's a few bits of development technique to resolve before anything worth seeing will emerge.

Thanks for the link to the UK LF site, I'll go and take a peek right now!

Welcome to group therepy, Chris; just an aside: I'd hold onto a basic smaller outfit (35mm or MF, whichever you like better) for the action stuff like your surfer. 'Course, you're probably gonna end up like most of us do...shooting 35mm, MF, LF, and digital!
