    Good morning from Montreal

    Hello everyone,

What a great forum you have all created. After browsing for a while first, I have signed up. I have really enjoyed pouring over the pages and old posts.

I am a newspaper photographer who once had the luxury of a huge and beautiful darkroom at my finger tips, all I was required to do was bring my own consumables. Digital brought that to an end in 1999, and I have built a beautiful darkroom at home, very functional, but much smaller.

I shoot 6x9, 4x5 and 5x7. At one time, I had an Arca F 8x10 too, but suffered a car break in and lost that kit. My insurance replaced it with a Cambo basic!
Which, in frustration I sold off and have never replaced the 8x10.

I will need to get a flatbed scanner to scan prints to post from time to time. I really have enjoyed looking at the work of others here on L.F.

Welcome to the forum Allen. You are lucky to be living in such a beautiful city.

What types of subjects do you enjoy?

    Hi from the Ottawa area.

Welcome to the Forum and say high to my daughter..... she lives in Montreal (the coolest city on earth, she calls it).

I was in Montreal a couple weeks ago, a mekka for LF. Very envious.

    Thank you gentlemen,

Montreal is indeed a cool city, but it is loosing its "free edge" as the mayor has discovered the powerful revenue stream called, manic ticket issuing police!

But none the less, many great things to shoot.

Ron, my preferred subjects have been my daughters (I tried to post in the new portraits section but it seems I may not be able to post just yet?), urban decay and industrial sites.

I took a John Sexton workshop a few years back and have started to appreciate the landscape more, I bought one of his prints which are just beautifully printed. But the urban settings do appeal to me a little more.
