Frank, thanks for the info. I've got a couple of old 500's, I'll have to see if they are X or XL. That's an amazing f-stop with those umbrellas!

Thanks I should do a write up since you're all interested. I used to shoot strobe a lot in my early commercial days, now it is a nice option ~

I never heard of this battery. I've got several 500x packs and didn't want to spring for the Dynalite power supply. Thanks for the tip Frank.

My Chamonix Saber in its tripod use incarnation.
I used the fresnel/GG combination of the 45N2 (replaced by Hopf GG), the frame of their folding viewer and a metal folding viewer added for $20.

Nice shot of the old guy!!
(Sometimes I miss that thing, just because it was cool that it was from the 1800s.)

Funny thing is that I used a Gundlach Radar on it when I had it too!

Love your set-up Frank, especially the large umbrella ... need to take a look at that for my 400Ws Quantums ;-)

Okay, finally have a photo to post. Here's me with my "new" Sinar F2 on the side of I-45, trying to make a photo of an old house. Ended up with a decent contact print from this negative - my first!

I'm picking it up locally on Friday. I don't know why I bought it, except that I must have felt sorry for this poor thing. WTF did they do to the back?
