    Neat, Bryan. Thanks!

We might call this; “Bellows extension for rednecks”

Is ur camera to short? Here’s tha ez way ta fix dat. Find nuthr rail and jus clamp it on th bak. Do jus like i dun here, find nuthr rail, tak ur handi clamp an houk it up. My camer is jus bout therten inches, bt my belows is longr. Cee how muche more i got? Its bout twnty too nches now. Dats my kiwk way to mak my tudee longer. Now i ken use longr lens... ur git relly, relly clos wit a shrtr one.

Don aks me bout them sentimetrs, thts the devels taaak.

Ok enough nonsense. Although that’s about it. I put short pegs into the existing holes (for registration) on a second rail and viola longer bellows. My plan is to eventually embed some rare earth magnets in the rails for better attachment, and removability.

So...why not unscrew the piano hinge and just screw in the rear rail?

I considered that but it would shave off 4” from the extra extension. But that is a viable alternative.

Never heard of it. Looks good for an MF copy camera.

Looked it up. Kinda rare too.

It is the current repro camera from Sinar. Similar to Linhof’s Repro, except Linhof’s Repro is a 45 camera and the Sinar one is not.

A 16x20 monorail I built earlier this year to shoot ambrotypes. In the process I learned some of the ways not to make a big camera. It works great but could definitely be improved on in V2. Weight is about 34lbs without the lens. There's front and rear tilt but no other movements since I never use anything but those. The focusing screen mechanism is built horizontally to facilitate easier film loading without using a step ladder.
