All 4x5s finished by January I hear.. Finally packing up shop and enjoying his retirement!

Yes, I learnt to live with the restrictions of the Explorer (and on occasion turned it sideways on the tripod) - But it's nice to have the option now! Although the Explorer was REALLY nice and light!

Yep. For scale, here's another picture:

that tiny little enlarger in the background is an LPL 4500 4x5 enlarger. The big one is a Wisner Traditional mounted on a home-made contraption with an Aristo cold light head on top. It's my own counter-top 8x10 enlarger.

No, he was just checking to see if he had his tripod in Clyde's holes.

    scovill 5x8

    hey all,

my newest find! it is a 5x8 scovill with 2 plate holders, lens and aperture disks, and the original box!

check out he plate holders. the middle piece comes out and them you slide the plates into the slots. hen replace the middle septum and this holds the plates tightly in place. a pretty cool design for sure

it has the inserts for shooting 4x5 plates. i believe it maybe a dry plate camera but i will use it as a wet plate for sure. note the interior slot to fit a septum so you can shoot either a stereo shot or possibly shoot 2 separate 4x5s.

I like it. Can you remove the camera for shooting duty?
