    4x5 and 6x17 scanner recommendations

I am beginning to think about options to replace my old Agfa Duoscan HiD. I am a very enthusiastic amateur - no more - but enjoy producing high quality prints (mainly black and white), and am excited by the throught of being able to produce a book on something like blurb using my own scans as input.

Ideally, the replacement would handle both 4x5 and 6x17 film (the Agfa always struggled with 6x17, but was very good with 4x5).

So far I have the Epson Perfection 700 & 750 on a shortlist, with the 700 favoured on the grounds of cost. Are there other scanners I should be looking at, and is there an appreciable difference between the 700 & 750 that makes the price difference worth it.

    TIA, David

I'm sure Microtek has a scanner that will fit the bill, too.

Me, got an Epson V750, but that doesn't mean it's better then what you end up buying.
When I grow up, I want to be a photographer.

The Microtek model in this price range is the (newish) M1/F1.
