    Medford, OR???

I have a business trip to Medford, OR in mid-June, 2008. I'm thinking about staying over the weekend if I can identify interesting places to photograph. Any suggestions?

Rogue River! Crater Lake isn't too far away.

Definitely go to Crater Lake. Take the boat tour around the lake - get down to the dock soon after they open and take the boat to Wizard Island and get off the boat and spend the day exploring around the island. Use morning and evening light to shoot from the rim drive. You will not be disappointed.

    Keith,

Here is a great picture by our own QT of Tokotee Falls. It is a great area to shoot in and would be well worth your time to explore not only the falls but the entire Umpqua River area. It is a short and easy hike to the falls and there is quite a bit to find and shoot from easy vantage points along the scenic drive to get there.

Hope it was alright to post the picture if not please feel free to remove my post.

    Here is something different.
I too would suggest Crater Lake. The trip up there you could find all sort of images. I visit Medford at lease four times a year and I usually head over to Jacksonville and to the Odd Fellow Cemetery. I've found lots of interesting images there. From head stones to moss draped trees.
I've even taken other photographers there including John Wimberley. They all think its a neat place to photograph in. You could also look up John. He lives in Ashland, Oregon.
He should be in the book.

WOW--- TAKE A WEEK.. Medford, Southern Oregon, Gold Mining Camps, YES Crater Lake, Brookings on the Oregon Coast and the route to Brookings partially on the Redwood Highway. Eureka and Crescent City California.

2 and a half, or a liesurely 3 hour drive to Brookings at the Coast. See map:

Crater Lake Rim Drive and boat tour. Two hour drive-- See Map:

    http://www.mapquest.com/maps/Medford...rater+Lake+Or/

Longer trip... much along the Coast. Medford to Eureka Ca, with Crescent City along the way, and a side trip to Brookings??? 4 Hour drive (2.5 to Crescent City). See Map:

Largest collection of Victorian Architecture in California is in Humboldt County in Eureka California. Eureka Victorian Architecture is largely restored and very impressive. The Painted Ladies of Eureka are a "must see" if you like architectural history.
