    Thank you *very* much, to Mick, Eric, Tri, Jim, and Merg! The kids deserve most of the credit; they really made some wonderful images. (Imagine what they could have done with a teacher who actually knew what he was doing...)

    My big thanks goes to Steve for running the article and photos, and to Eric for recommending it to him. It was a bit outside the norm for a VC article, but I think it fit well. And the work really is beautiful. (I'll bring a few of the original prints to foto3, along with a dozen or so lenses for anyone who wants to try it for themselves.)

    More and more I've been finding that the simplicity of such a project is a perfect counterpoint to the computerized, automated complexity of the digital photography world, which I also teach. And don't we all need a good 99-cent magic bullet?
