    I've read he used a Kodak metal field often in Yosemite and environs.

    If that is the same camera that appears in the opening scene of the film about him, it most certainly is an Agfa/Ansco. Even with the embossed label taped over in the scene, there's no mistaking that one. All the features and controls are identical to mine.
