Hello, my name is Peter and I am entralled

Hello, my name is Peter and I am a lurker by nature. I lurk because I like to learn and you are such excellent teachers. I also lurk because I don't really know enough to ask usefull questions.

I succumbed to the temptation to buy a Shen Hao 5x4, a retirement present to myself, from Badgers (very pleasant people to do business with) and have been too scared to touch it because of its sheer beauty; and because I've been busy.

I have taken and developed half a dozen photos on it, in my living room, and would like to take the liberty, if I can figure out how to do it, of posting two; One because I like it and one because it is a puzzle.

The puzzle is how the fox skull could possibly have moved while the box stayed still. I trust people will be polite enough not to notice the exposure problems.

If I press this button here something should happen...afte I add a title or subject, of course.

Welcome to "Enthralled Anonymous" Peter. I'm glad to see that you have already started your ten-step program.

The movement in the skull photo looks like camera movement during the exposure - a bump from an overly-enthralled user, perhaps. It shows up more due to being white against a dark background.

Welcome Peter. I like your photographs.

Ralph answered your question about the movement. I'd like to mention that I sure like the mistake and that some great work is done this way by accident.

Welcome Peter. The fox "ghost" is possibly from a slight bump to the tripod during the exposure. Nice work.

how could have been a bump to the tripod if the box is sharp and still in the image?
You guys always go for the difficult answers and unlike possibilities.
In my opinion the skull shrunk

I agree with the shrinking of the skull. Or there where 2-3 exposures. Since the box is sharp the skull might have been moved forward and backward for 2-3 separate exposures. My first LF photograph was a folding chair. I like the lone chair a lot.
    Welcome

Thank you all. In the absence of anything more likely I think I will go with the shrinking skull hypothesis.
