Wait a minute... I carry a 70-lb backpack instead of a digi-cam in a pocket... fight with TSRA agents at airports... pay multi-hundreds of dollars to ship camera gear and film to locations if I don't want to fight with TSRA agents.....

Sorry... no, that's WAY beyond eccentric... that's for sure insane.

Who set the standards?
Is that what counts?
I don't use LF because it's cool or sets me apart from the crowd.
Even regarding the time for getting a print, maybe you should be a bit more critical toward your results and a little less toward your peers who after all share your same passion even though they use different tools.

Nobody belongs to an elite just because he/she uses some kind of tool (camera in this case). Come on, this is so selfish.

You might belong to an elite based upon your results, at most. The camera is just a tool, wether it is film or digital.

Come on now, let's be honest. The original poster says he's 20. Best guess says he knows Big Cameras are chick magnets (and they are)... and... size does matter (at least so I've heard). Methinks he may be more concerned with magnetism than stepping up in social class. Hey... if I were 20 again I for sure would be.
