For example, one might expect a difference because of format. Or, the Leitz may have a sharper lens. Etc.
I do not think I could describe the differences, but they are there.
For almost 15 years I worked daily in a darkroom that had 8 enlargers, almost all in different setups and combinations. Occasionally I worked in another darkroom that had a Durst 138. All had their own feel or look. Beselar 45 with a dichroic head, one with a Minolta 45a, (the one that used flash tubes to achieve filtration), Leica V35, Omega D2 with a cold light, one with a condenser and so on.

The change was partially due to the lenses and set up, but the light sources factored in too. The V35 is a beauty to work with in 35mm, it took time, but I secured one for my own darkroom and still love to work with it.

In the end, I am rather sure that if I go dichroic or VC cold light, I will be happy either way, and without one of each side by side, I will never know the difference.
