Contemporary Paris Photographers?

I need your advice!

I am teaching a class this summer in Paris on "Paris through the eyes of (some of) the Masters," and am looking for the work of contemporary practitioners who focus on Paris in order to round out my historical stable of Marville, Atget, Kertesz, Cartier-Bresson, Brassai and Doisneau.

Landscape-wise I am mostly set (Couturier's work stands out strongly), but I am also looking for people photographers, especially ones who deal with its multi-ethnic nature and the various neighborhoods. I've seen that work for Marseilles, which has a large Arab-North African population that is spawning an interesting urban subculture of its own, but nothing yet for Paris. Suggestions on anything good from LF portraits to hand-held smaller, more off-the-cuff work would be greatly appreciated, basically anything that helps students look at Paris today.

I just saw an interesting, if only slightly inspiring show at the LA Public Library of contemporary work, but it is very landscape-heavy.

Rather than give a specific recommendation, I think these resources will get you many choices. The first is advertising biased, the second is fashion biased, and the third is photojournalism biased.

You can have a look at "VU a Paris" on the website. It was a carte blanche for 15 of us to catch Paris.

Otherwise right now there is a beautiful exhibit about Paris in color, setup by the city at the Louvre. I missed it when I was there but the critics were excellent. You might find a link somewhere.
