there is a group in the DFW area. Call me and i will hook you up. We do weekend outings where we share, critique, and mostly overeat at great local eateries while talking about digital vs. film, pyro vs. metol, inkjet vs. wet processing, young vs old, whatever comes to mind.

    Steve,

do yourself a favor, get in touch with Bob and find a few Saturdays to get out with the boys... it's a FANTASTIC bunch. just so you know going in, folks with hats less than 20 gallons and belt buckles smaller than turkey platters need not apply - it is TEXAS after all.

in all seriousness, great group, great discourse, and of course, great eats at Joe T's! my regards to you all, i sure miss you on shooting days, though i must say, and i mean no disrespect, but i prefer the landscape in my new environs!

I did not know there were active folks in DFW. I need to meet up with you guys sometime.

If you are on the Cowtown side of the Metroplex check out the Fort Worth Camera Club. Mostly DSLR users, but a few who do large format, 6x17, etc. We have 150+ members, we do workshops, have interesting speakers (example we have had photogrpahy curators from the Amon Carter or maybe Brent Phelps gives us a presentation on his Lewis and Clark retrace, etc). We also do pretty regular local and travel outings that are really cool. Disclosure- I plan the outings :-) .We did Big Bend last month are going to Caprock Canyons in May, riding the Texas State Railroad in June, and going to Arches National Park in October.

Definitely meet up with Bob! Turned out he's a near neighbor to me... met up with them (Bob, Eugene, and Steve) a few weeks ago, and plan on staying active with the group. Lots of expertise there!!!
