Vaughn, the images from Jed Smith and the Bull Creek area are something to see. I have some of the best carbon negatives I've ever exposed from this last trip.... all sadly on Efke 25! I'm talking tissue that will have to be 6 gram with 10-12% sensitizers. I'm generally at 7-9 minutes with a 1 minute meter reading on Efke-25. Pyrocat-HD holds the highlights. As far as all of the electronic gizmos go.... let them earn it!! BTW, any more Efke-25 at the University. I'd even drive up to get it!!!

I like the way my eye travels, bounces, from foreground to background (horizon line) and all around. And acres of sky!

Totally love the composition. If I may without being rude, would prefer highligts slightly toned down to lower key for my personal taste.

    Cheers,

Vaughn and Luc, thanks. The current thread on this site about composition has helped me (hopefully) improve.

My scanning skills are at square one. I scan prints, not having a negative scanner. The gelatin prints contain more, and subtler, tonality. It seems that printing higher overall values and higher contrast results in a better scan. However, prints made this way don’t convey the same feeling for me as one made for display or a portfolio.

Joe, thanks a lot. Out of the two that I posted that one is the one I like the best as well. Glad you like it.

Jim, those two images are gorgeous. And yes, you can't go wrong with trees!

Preston, thanks. This is beautiful. Is this along the Merced? Just could not make the fall in Yosemite this year
