to answer your questions ...
the cameras i have been using ( for here ) are a 4x5 box camera
and a graflex slr ( 4x5 and with a roll of 120 taped to the back).
i do some of the same thing with 135 film ( and some of those images are on apug ),
the image quality just doesn't look the same. maybe it is because the non lf cameras
i have/use newer lenses ( 50s, 60s and 80s ) ... not to say there is something magical about non coated junk lenses.
they just render light differently, and i kind of like that.
... i don't really shoot lf for sharpness,i know some do, but i am not really concerned with that ( i kind of find it boring ) .
i use a lf camera cause it is just more fun ...
it really isn't an added expense for me. i have the film on hand so i use it ...
