    I posted this last week. It is a more or less straight scan of the neg:

    Last night I contacted printed it on g3 lodima using MAS amidol. I am very impressed with the difference. Of course it can be seen much better in the hand

    Thanks guys....not a drum scan. Just my v750 using the onboard scanning softwear with no real tweaks. I did import it into LR3 and maybe sharpen a touch, convert it to B+W (I scan in clr mode) and that is about it.

    I like the scan of the print much more

    The horizon is on the lower third. The dominant part of the tree (the trunk) is on the lower third. The branches are mostly on the upper third. The tree in the frame stretches just about perfectly from the left to the right third.

    I would contend that this image in fact is a great example of using thirds.
