Would that be on the road up White Mountain, east of Bishop, by any chance? It sure looks familiar. If so, I think it would be a bristlecone pine.

Nope. It's somewhere in the Colorado Plateau and located inside the confines of a “Research” Area which was marked “No Trespassing.” I do think that it is a bristlecone pine but I am not sure. I photographed several, including this one, and all were within a close proximity to each other.
