    Restoration of faded colour Negs

    Hi Folks

I am in the starting stages of a very large project.
Final output is Lambda Fibre Base prints, tri toned.
Originals are colour negatives dating back to the early 60's70's 80's

I have ran a series of test scans and conversions to BW and printed and toned.
I am not happy 100% with my final prints.
I think that the restoration is beyond my skill sets, as we are dealing with serious cross curve issues and tonal conversion/contrast problems due to the fading of the original negatives.

Does any one know here know of a very extremely competent PS operator that is skilled in this kind of work major damage restoration. The project can/possibly lead to 75- 100 drumscans and whatever it takes to bring these originals to a BW fiber state that I can then print on the Lambda and put our stamp on it. I would appreciate a lead to such a person.

This is a photographers worst nightmare and if those of you sitting on an archive of colour negs, bring them out and look at them.

Hi, was wondering if you (or anyone) has tried Digital ROC software for restoration?

http://www.asf.com/ there is a free trial version.

I have been meaning to try it as I have many family color negs 40+ years old.

You might talk to Ctein - he just wrote a book on the subject, and offers restoration services too.

    Bob-

I just completed a similar project of my own. Feel free to contact me with specific questions. It all depends upon the condition of the negs.
