    Input on video output?

I am strongly considering moving into video output as one of the means for my artistic expression. What I am looking for is a software program that enables the merging of still and video images.

Does anyone here know of a software program other than the extended version of CS3 that allows for zoom, panning, and rotating of still images and full captioning capabilities while at the same time possessing the capability for merging them with digital video? I am looking for output to be any and all digital video outputs including HD. While cost is a consideration, I think that for my purposes capabilites trump cost.

Thanks for any ideas that you may have on this matter.

Any modern video editing program. Macromedia flash would also work.

Premiere, Final Cut Pro...if you want total creative control and you have a mac, Final Cut is the best. iMovie is another option which comes with a Mac. Macs certainly are the way to go for artists.

As stated, almost any good video editing program. For PC you might look at Sony Vegas, they have a version packaged with their photo editing program for about 100 dollars, at places like Best Buy. But if you think you are eating up hard-drive with photos wait till you start adding high def video. At least 1 gig per minute.

I've found that by far the best program is Sony Vegas. Not only is is trivial to pan and zoom but rotation is also possible. For an example of this - check out

I only have one short piece of video in there but it will give you an idea
