Question Where do you get film in not-standard formats ?

I've seen quite a few cameras here that are made to take film in formats I'd never heard of like 7x17" (there's one of those in the classified's section right now) and I've been wondering where people get the film ? Do you buy it in a larger size and cut it yourself ? Do you order it directly from the manufacturer ? Please enlighten me here

Hi Stephan, Do an advanced search "titles only" with the term < ULF film >. You'll get plenty of answers.

You can cut it yourself. For the past couple of years Ilford has arranged a special order of unusual sizes.

Fotoimpex lists various ULF formats in it's catalog. Some things you can easily cut yourself.

People have also organized special orders with Ilford and Kodak in recent years.

Thanks everyone, especially for putting up with an idiot who didn't use the search function

Fotoimpex in Germany or Retrophotographic in the UK. If you don't see the size that you want on Retro's website phone them, they're incredably helpful.

You can also try Bergger (I hope I spelt it properly) in France who cut their film in a number of relatively unusual sizes as standard.

Well with the amount of screens I do for 7x17 cameras, you would have a very hard time convincing me it is not a standard size!~
