    Hey Jiri,

I notice you've been using Wephota film lately... The name doesn't ring the bell, but "NP 15" reminds me of the old East German ORWO.

If that's it, then either they have come a long way since I last tried it back in the '80s or you really know how to make it sing. Or both.

    Marko,

I buy the Wephota films from Geert vanden Broeck in his webshop. From what I have found (with just a very short search), the factory is located in Wernigerode, Germany, which according to a map is in former East Germany. So it might be that the ORWO factory survived in a way.

The films are good, maybe not that good as Fomapan, but 95-99% as good. And I don't do anything special with them, process them as all other films. It might be that they are better for hybrid process (scanning) - they scan well, better than Fomapan. I don't know, I don't print traditionally...

In my main shooting format, 13×18cm (I have the most film holders in this size ), I have so far shot Fomapan 100, but recently have order Wephota NP 15 (ISO 25) film. Because I could not find any other 13×18cm film with ISO 25 speed. And the Wephota is good enough. (For faster films, I'll use Wephota NP 24 and Fomapan 100, both in HalfPlate 4¾×6½” size).

    And Brian,
    thanks too...

I was not sure whether it works or if the background is too plain (toned) "grey". This time my wife said it's not that good to be presented, but again, I went against her judgment...
