The pink has gentle tone variations and the green/cyan is a the perfect complementary. As backgrounds should, it varies down to it's darkest tone. Two sole complementary colours and the right balance. After that comes the focus thing and structure.
Looking forward to some more to learn from.

IMHO, that's because of the increased density and color contrasts between the flower and the background. It's also because of eye training... most languages read from upper left to lower right so that's where we first look.

Interesting points! Fun to analyze. This one didn't turn out quite how I wanted. I kind of wanted the pedals to slowly fade into blur but they all just went completely away.

And I was wondering why my c41 negatives were looking pale, thin, and bit red/brown... Well I am an idiot and mixed the chemicals diluted 100% too much. Mixed a new batch up at ultra small working strength - 70ml for btzs tubes. 4 negatives look great, best I've done.

    Zaitz,

The color palette of this one and the other one you posted is just lovely. Were these taken outdoors or inside?

Thanks. Both were outside. The first under cloudy conditions and this one was supposed to be in sunlight but a cloud came over on the second exposure and I liked it better.

Zaitz... You're gonna convince this old die-hard to get some of those funky old fast lenses after all.

Zaitz, this image reminds me of a photo I took a while back with a DSLR and an old Takumar 50mm. It just hit me both lenses are radioactive

Yes quite similar. Looks like the same family of flower but a bit different coloration. Maybe the same though since I don't know anything about flowers. A few months ago I didn't even know there were radioactive lenses!
