Dan K - if you like the brush edges, why don't you try some alt printing? cyanotype or VDB? More authentic, and (IMO) more fun.
Sly,
This and a couple others started as liquid emulsion painted on Crane paper....but my last outdated (5+ year) bottle of emulsion didn't adhere properly - blistered in 1:3 Dektol....
I was dead set on getting the image as it looked before the emulsion started blistering...so I started playing with a painted mask...not authentic, but it was fun...
Thanks,
Dan
Here's another end of season sunflower, cut and shot indoors...the larger leaf (lower left) drooped quite a bit - over an inch - between the time I composed and actually took the shot...throws the composition off...scanner added the line for some reason (dying as well, I'm sure)

A first go with Rollei Retro Tonal 8x10 (7' in HC110 1:30). I'll have another try tomorrow because holding on to the whites needs a double scan.
