    “Science and Art”

    Emulsion making is a quintessential blend of science and art.

    I would say you are doing well. Lots of good highlight detail, keep it up.

    This is a first stumbling attempt at still life, much more challenging to focus and choose what is out of focus than the landscapes I'm used to. All the same it was a fun way to spend an empty hour!

    I'm still working on finding a 4x5 enlarger in the middle of the North Sea, so this is just a scan of the negative.

    Sean, 5x4 enlargers are not easy to come by.
    You know about https://www.secondhanddarkroom.co.uk...s/?k=27672:3:: ?
    They have an LPL (with which I'm happy) and a bomb-proof Durst which costs twice as much.
    Coming (sometime) soon- https://intrepidcamera.co.uk/blog/in...repid-enlarger

    Always ebay, but you'll have to watch continually as they appear so rarely.

    Also, visit FADU. A nice 5x4 darkroom kit was put up for sale there very recently. Might even be worth posting a 'wanted' thread.

    Re: Flowers Anyone?

    Thanks for the pointers Colin!

    I have been browsing with intent on second hand darkroom for several weeks, but the cost of a full setup with enlarger, timer, and lenses ends up pushing close to £1000 which is just a little to much for me to spend at the moment...

    The intrepid enlarger looks ideal, and I'll definitely be picking one up for taking to work and keeping busy.

    I'll also have a look at FADU, haven't been there before.
