i was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to print diptychs or triptychs with 4x5 negatives. i'm sure there is a simpler way than what i have in mind.
any help would be appreciated.

Generally diptychs and triptychs are printed as separate prints and mounted or hung side by side. Treat them as separate prints but make sure they are matched so that they work when touching or close to touching.

Are you talking about printing traditionally or digitally?

printing in the traditional sense. i wanted to print the images side by side on the same sheet of paper...
I have done this by carefully cutting a mask out of black mat board the size of the paper I want with the openings positioned where I want. To this I tape, hinged on one side, another mat of the same size. This is now my easel. With tests I determine proper exposure for each negative. Then I use my custom easel covering up the window I am not exposing to prevent fogging from stray light.

thats his site.
I do the same exact thing as Kirk to contact print 4x5 negatives in a diptych.
I just finished one a few weeks ago, but I don't have the print scanned yet. If I can do that within the next few days I'll post it...
Here's a new one. Kelly foundry, Tonopah NV. 3 6.5X8.5 panels. Just a scan and stitch so far. When I print the overmat will seperate the panels and also register. Difficult light to say the least.
