    LF in Switzerland

In the last few weeks I have moved with my family to Basel in Switzerland. I would very much appreciate tips on where to source LF / 120 film (mainly black and white), and developing supplies.

    Hi, David,
Welcome to Switzerland! I know of two good sources for large format film:
    - http://www.photostudio13.ch/ in Zurich just behind the main station, they also
do developing (I only use their E6 service which is excellent and quick)
    - http://www.ars-imago.ch: in Zug; mail order only for various photo related
    materiel.

    Hope this helps

I would like to add some Zurich adresses: Light+Byte (http://www.lb-ag.ch/), Profot (http://www.profot.ch/profotch/index.php) and Tekno, the Sinar distributor ( www.tekno.ch). Foto Bären and Foto Ganz are two of the few remaining "real" photo shops in this country.
    Gut Licht!

Foto Wolff in Freiestrasse by Markplatz/Rathaus used to be one of the better shops. If they don't have it anymore, they may be able to point you in the right direction. Not sure whether the department of physical chemistry at the university is still doing photography classes (used to be great when I took them in the early 90's), so they may also know local sources.

    good luck!

Just want to echo the many excellent suggestions already made. I, too, use Fotostudio13 for my processing (E6 and C41) and can vouch for their excellent service.

For some reason, Fuji Quickload is unavailable here but, with the weak dollar, this can be easily and cheaply ordered from the US.

    David,

I agree with the excellent sources posted by the other members above. Another one would be Ott & Wyss for Jobo stuff and Tetenal chemicals.

    Welcome to Switzerland.

    Re: LF in Switzerland

    David,

    Welcome to Basel!

I have my E6 and C41 developed by awp, Kapellenstrasse 34, 4052 Basel. Always good results, very quick turn-around (~ 2 hours) and imho reasonable prices. If you go there, tell them best regards from Remigius Stalder. They also have a few fridges full of LF film, which comes quite handy when you run out of film. If you're in for a beer, just pm.

    Best regards, Remigius.

    Thanks for this information!

The awp place is literally just round the corner, although I didn't know it was there until the information was posted here. The box of 4x5 TMax I saw in their fridge this evening will, I hope, be transferred to my fridge soon.
