    Igor's Camera Exchange - Thumbs up/down?

Photo.net reviews are kinda old. Found a couple posts on this forum, one good one bad. Anyone have any recent experiences they care to share? If you had a negative experience and prefer not to have you're name attached to it, please send me a PM.

    Thanks!

I have bought quite a few LF lenses--including one of my favorites--from Igor, they have all been usable although some required a bit of work. I find his ratings and at times his prices on the optimistic side, but he often has old glass that can't be found elsewhere.

I've got no complaints with Igor's. Nice prices.
I steal time at 1/125th of a second, so I don't consider my photography to be Fine Art as much as it is petty larceny.

Thumbs up. He has given me excellent advice, and sold me excellent equipment.

I've had only good experiences with this store.

Here's another perspective: Igor was at the trade show of the View Camera Conference 2007 at Louisville, KY at the end of June. Anybody who does business via the internet and is also willing to come to a trade show, and pay to have space where his market can look him over, has a level of confidence in his dealings.

Seeing your vendor up close and personal is a most helpful perspective.

I've not had occasion to buy anything from Igor's, but I would if I could. Haven't yet been able to make a $100 bill in my basement that will pass....

    ciao,
    Peter

Igor was actually at the last two View Camera Conferences. I have also met him in Columbus while running workshops at Midwest a couple of times when he dropped in to see Jim. I have purchased a few things from him over many years and all ahve been ok. Again, if buying on the internet it is always a good idea to make a phone call and get the best description of the item that you can get.

Only good experiences with him- I believe I have purchased two lenses from him over the last few years. Thumbs up!

I bought a lens from him this spring. It was a good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.

I bought my 'monster' Linhof Tripod (black) from him.

He's an 'old school' type of seller. When I called him up about the tripod he was at a show, and he bitched to me about how cheap some of the people who came to his booth were !

I'd do business with him again ...
