    The dilution I was using was the Kodak formulation. (1:7) . I will try the 1:64 dilution.

    I think 1:7 is too strong - I generally used one ounce of concentrate with either 31 ounces of water or 63 ounces of water.

    I thought the same thing until I started using the BTZS system. Now I get exact exposure and even depth of field information and associated development times that really work. I use the tube development system and as a beginner, get great B & W negatives.

    I'd switch to Xtol. Better Kodak developer than HC-110. Plenty of it everywhere.
